What Is the Human Chart? Five Positions and the Ten Major Stars

How the Sanmeigaku Human Chart places the Ten Major Stars in five positions and why that helps explain differences between work, home, and inner reactions.

In this guide
  1. The Human Chart shows where each Star is used
  2. Center is the base, but not the whole person
  3. East is the outside world; West is close relationships
  4. North is the source of values; South is future expression
  5. What if the same Star repeats—or all five differ?
  6. The Human Chart does not choose one ‘true self’

The Human Chart shows where each Star is used

The chart places Ten Major Stars at Center, East, West, North, and South. Modern Style | Shukumei translates these positions as your inner axis, behavior in the outside world, distance in close relationships, source of values, and expression developing toward the future.

Center is the base, but not the whole person

Center is read as the core of everyday judgment and what you return to when uncertain. Having a different quality in the outside world does not mean you are hiding your real self.

East is the outside world; West is close relationships

East is especially useful for study, work, and other public roles. West appears more easily with family, friends, and partners. A person who looks highly social outside may still need substantial private time at home if East and West differ.

North is the source of values; South is future expression

North is associated with elders, parental influence, and inherited ideas about what is normal or expected. South is associated with younger people and qualities you may increasingly express outwardly.

What if the same Star repeats—or all five differ?

Repeated Stars may make one quality easier to use in several settings. When many Stars differ, situational switching can be stronger. Feeling very different at work and at home is not necessarily a contradiction.

The Human Chart does not choose one ‘true self’

Center is not the only real you, and East or West are not fake versions. All are actual patterns you may use. The chart is best treated as a map of where different strengths appear.
